C.I.A. (Christians In Action)
Is a women's ministry group that meets the 3rd Tuesday of each month and exists "to spiritually support and encourage the women of CCC and to serve the church family and community through programs, special events, and acts of service." Based on Ephesians 2:10 "For we are God's workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do." This group of women are responsible for the maintainence of the kitchen area for special church meals and outreach programs. They organize mission gift programs for underprivileged children both locally and through foreign mission fields. They minister to both members and the community by providing meals for new mothers, families of hospital patients and families that have lost loved ones. They also maintain the CCC prayer chain which lifts special prayer requests before our Father God.
Prime Timers
Is a senior's ministry group that meets for breakfast the 3rd Tuesday of each month and exists "to help provide direction and support for the spiritual, emotional, social, physical and intellectual well being of our senior members and those in our community." The ladies of this group come together after breakfast and make turbans, gift bags, lap robes, fleece hats, teddy bears, seat belt pillows and underarm pillows for the American Cancer Society and Tri-County Hospice patients that have been affected by cancer or the result of cancer or pacemaker/defibrillator surgery. The men of this group are involved in handy work around the church and also for people in the community that need light carpentry or handy work done but cannot do it themselves. Some members counsel cancer patients or sit with those that are homebound or need supervision to give a brief break to the families.
Adult Learning
Is a general adult ministry program offering opportunities for adult members and those in the community to be involved in Bible studies, topical studies, church history education and Christian education dealing with the roles and duties of church members and personal growth. These programs are offered on Sunday and Wednesday nights and between the early and regular services on Sunday morning. Sunday morning programs are designed for general involvement as well as age specific groups.
Prayer and Share Small Groups
Is an adult ministry group designed to create closer relationships within the Church Body through small group fellowships. These small groups meet monthly at a designated time to share in a potluck meal, to engage in a devotional lesson from God's Word and to pray for one another and others. These groups are focused on helping our congregation grow closer together, making it hard for Satan to find ways to cause problems and discourse in Christ's Church. These groups are based on scriptural precedence found in Acts 2:46,47 "Every day they continued to meet together in the temple courts. They broke bread in their homes and ate together with glad and sincere hearts, praising God and enjoying the favor of all the people. And the Lord added to their number daily those who were being saved."
Men's Breakfast
Is a men's ministry group that meets the 2nd Saturday of each month and is a program designed to promote fellowship and encouragement among our male members and men in the community that need somewhere to connect with Christians. This group meets at 7:30am for breakfast, Bible Study, book study or practical encouragement through special speakers. Father's are encouraged to bring their sons for a time of father/son bonding and Christ-centered male interaction.
